Sunday, December 31st, 2006

A company that manufactures promotional items for major companies approached me to photograph some of the products they have created for use in their marketing materials. I think the Mickey Mouse divot tool is my favorite!

Rose Ericson Family Photos

Sunday, December 10th, 2006

Rose wanted to give a photo of herself, her brother, and her sisters to her mother as a gift. The young girls were kind of rambunctious but we were finally able to capture a group photo that she liked. Rose also brought along her boyfriend for a few casual portraits. Here are some of my favorites!

Teenage Fencers at Fortune Fencing in Pasadena

Saturday, December 2nd, 2006

Here are several photographs of teenage fencers who hired me to photograph their fencing team at Fortune Fencing. Fortune Fencing is located in Pasadena, California. It was so fascinating to watch these guys and girls fence each other and it was even more fun to photograph them.

Judith and Lucia Friedericy are two of my most frequent product photography customers. They returned to my home studio again today for more photographs of their dolls. I really loved the "chess" maidens!

Walker Family Portraits

Thursday, October 26th, 2006

Today the Walker family met me at Lacy Park for a few family portraits. To say that the kids were crazy wound up would be an understatement but fortunately this client actually liked a few of my snaps. Here are a few images from the session.

Pinhole Camera

Wednesday, October 25th, 2006

I purchased this custom-made pinhole camera to try and get back to the roots of photography and have some fun with film. The camera’s back, lens mount, cap, and strap retainers are made out of Zebrawood. The top and front are made of solid maple. The curved back holds a 4″ x 10″ sheet of film giving a very wide panoramic image covering approximately 120 degrees horizontal by 55 degrees vertically. The focal length is 110mm. The flat front piece pivots out, upward, and off the front allowing for film reloading. The photos seen below are by Bryan Dahlberg–the creator of this camera and a fine photographer in his own right. For more information, visit the Photonbox web site.
