Today Amisha stopped by my home studio and we took a walk outside to grab a few portraits. Here are two of my favorites.

Dr. Phil stopped by my home studio for some portraits today. And before you guys start giving me a hard time, he tells me everybody calls him Dr. Phil! Here are a few photos from his session. Dr. Phil owns HealthWorks Chiropractic in Pasadena, California.

Today we had a fabulous Sunday brunch at the Princeville Hotel on the North shore of Kauai. And although the food was fantastic and the views from the veranda were spectacular–the high point was when Pierce Brosnan and his family were seated at the table next to us. So do you remember when he starred each week as the super duper cool Remington Steele? I so loved that show! Being from Los Angeles, I tried to act like it was no big deal to “breakfast with James Bond.” And certainly I didn’t want to look like some of the crazy tourists peeking around corners trying to get a good look at him.

I snapped this photo with my iPhone as he walked past our table on his way back from the buffet. I thought I was being so very “James Bond” by using my iPhone and acting like I was reading e-mail (which I was actually doing when he first arrived). Although I had my trusty Nikon D3, I didn’t want to use that monster and be accused of being paparazzi–especially since Brosnan still has a license to kill! And for the ladies who are wondering–yes he really does look as good in real life as he does in film. From what I gleaned from the staff, the Princeville Hotel is one of his favorite hangouts so if you’re ever in the area, you might want to check that out for yourself!

I photographed Carly and Jacques’ wedding almost nine months ago and today they came by my studio for a few pregnancy portraits. They are always a pleasure to photograph. Here are a few favorites from our session.

I was digging through some of my old 2004 archives and came across these portraits of L. Although my portrait photography has matured over the years, I still love the lighting and expressions on this young teenager (and his pet dog). Here are just two photographs from his session.

Today I discovered that one of my portraits of New York Times bestselling author Clive Cussler was selected to grace the back cover of his latest novel–The Chase. As a portrait photographer, I’m extremely honored that G. P. Putnam and Sons selected this portrait. I should also mention that since I’m a huge fan of Clive Cussler and his Dirk Pitt® novels, I was thrilled to see my photograph appear on the rear of this dust jacket. As an added bonus, I’m also including a portrait I took of Clive sitting at his desk in his home office in November of 2004.

Renee first called me to ask if I would be able to view a photograph of her great grandmother and grandmother and reproduce it in a similar fashion adding my own unique style. Renee’s daughter is wearing the same dress seen in this original photograph! And since everyone was already in studio, I also took a few additional photos as a bit of fun. I’m also posting the original photo so you can get a better sense of my vision.

Much of the art from Friedericy Dolls is based on whimsical views of characters from children’s literature. If you take a look at the doll photography below, you might notice some references to Alice in Wonderland, Snow White, and Sleeping Beauty! Check out these great samples from one of my best clients.
