Rachel + Roman Wedding – Descanso Gardens & The Castaway

Saturday, September 29th, 2007

We started the day at Descanso Gardens. As you can image, Descanso Gardens is an amazing location for romantic and creative portraits with the wedding party. We left Descanso Gardens and traveled to St. Bede the Venerable in La Cañada Flintridge for the ceremony. Finally, following the ceremony, we all moved to The Castaway in Burbank for the reception. I loved photographing Rachel and Roman. They’re super laid back and more importantly, really nice people (and I mean REALLY nice). I feel so lucky that they selected me as their wedding photographer! Here are a few of my favorite photographs from their wedding day.

Brian stopped by my home studio today for a relaxed and casual executive portrait. He was an easy subject and we were done in just a few minutes!

Kristen + Chris Wedding – Secret Garden Restaurant

Saturday, September 15th, 2007

Kristen and Chris’ wedding was a beautiful affair! They both got ready at the Grand Vista Hotel in Simi Valley and then we all drove over to the Secret Garden Restaurant in Moorpark for the ceremony and reception. Here are just a few images from the wedding. My favorite photographs are a series featuring Kristen’s grandfather and grandmother dancing. One of the photographs from the series is seen as the last black and white photograph on this post. They’ve been married over 50 years!

Fanny + Benoit’s Wedding – Verandas in Manhattan Beach

Saturday, September 1st, 2007

Fanny and Benoit were married and had their reception at Verandas in Manhattan Beach, California. The day was a fusion of American, French, and Chinese cultures with Fanny’s family coming over from China and Benoit’s arriving from France. Although many members of both families didn’t speak English, smiles seemed to be the universal language. And can you believe the little details that Fanny put together for this event! I just love the table numbers! The reception ended at 3:00 p.m. so we took a short drive down to the strand for a few beach photographs. Even though it’s the end of the summer, Manhattan Beach was really packed! It was kind of hard to find an open spot for a few “all alone” photographs. Here are a few photos from their wedding day.
