I had this project in mind for several years before I finally found the perfect maternity subject. These images were created over a period of almost nine months and are presented in my signature fine art style. As you might imagine, it was difficult to replicate the same lighting for each visit while also ensuring a similar pose for each individual session. Although each pose is not exactly the same in each one of the photographs, I believe the slight variances lend to further the story that I’m sharing through this series of photographs.

Today I had the pleasure of photographing Jane Kazmareck (actress [Malcolm in the Middle]), Raul Rodriguez (Rose Parade’s premiere float designer), Libby Evans Wright (first female President of the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Association’s Board of Directors), Carol Liu (Member of the California State Assembly), Linda Chang (real estate agent), Rachel Worby (conductor), Sheldon Epps (Artistic Director of the Pasadena Playhouse), and Suzanna Guzmán (mezzo soprano of the Los Angeles Opera). These photographs were taken on behalf of the Pasadena Museum of History for their exhibit titled "The Purse and the Person." These portraits appeared on a black poster promoting the event.

Ever since I moved to Pasadena in 2001 I’ve been going to Ben’s Barbershop. It’s one of those old-timey barbershops with stuffed moose and marlin on the wall. Ben is the owner and he’s been cutting my hair (what’s left of it) for many years. The other day I was photographing a corporate client and he was cutting the mens’ hair for the shoot. When I had a second I grabbed him and asked him to sit for a quick photograph. Here’s the result.

Tandent Vision Science held a corporate meeting at the Langham Hotel in Pasadena (formerly the Ritz Carlton) and asked me to stop by and take some executive headshots for their entire staff. These are a few examples of those portraits.

Carly and Jacques came by the studio today with their brand new baby boy! I was thrilled to be the first professional to photograph the little tyke! Here are a few of my favorites from the session.
