Laura and Eric’s wedding and reception were held on Saturday at El Dorado Park Golf Course in Long Beach, California. I photographed Laura and the bridesmaids getting ready at the Long Beach Marriott while my associate photographer Vanessa met Eric and the groomsmen at Laura and Eric’s home. The ceremony was fast and painless and the reception meal was fabulous! As for the reception itself, a great time was had by all. The wedding photographs you see here are from Clara and Steve’s wedding last Sunday at Holy Virgin Mary Coptic Orthodox Church in Los Angeles, California. The reception followed at the Skirball Cultural Center (also in Los Angeles). I must say that I found the church absolutely amazing! And the guests for their event were some of the most polite and agreeable folks that I’ve ever had the pleasure to photograph. Here are a few of my favorite photographs. Michele and Matt were married last Saturday and I had the privilege of photographing their wedding. They both got ready at the Wilshire Grand in downtown Los Angeles. From there we moved over to the Walt Disney Concert Hall for a quick creative portrait session. After Michele & Matt spent some looking deeply into each other’s eyes, we drove over to Silverlake Presbyterian Church for the ceremony. This was Michele’s home church. They even have a tree in front of the bell tower that’s dedicated to her grandmother! After the ceremony we headed over to one of my favorite downtown reception sites–Marvimon. Late last week I met Erin and Tom in Old Town Pasadena for an engagement session–a session with an urban theme. As you’ll see, we even took some time for them to play a few racks at one of the best pool halls in Old Town–Jake’s Cafe & Billiards. Erin and Tom wanted me to join them for a beer, but I had to decline citing the fact that I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to then concentrate on any subsequent photographs. As an aside, I think it would be hard to drink a beer while simultaneously photographing an engagement session. I guess it might have been possible if I had one of those beer hard hats you see at baseball games handy–but I didn’t.

Tiana and Michael were married last Saturday in the Chapel at Lake Avenue Church in Pasadena. After the ceremony, we moved to Pasadena City Hall for some creative photographs. When we reached the end of our available time, we moved from Pasadena City Hall to Castle Green. As their wedding photographer, my favorite part of the wedding day was Tiana and Michael’s surprise first change up in the middle of their first dance. I was looking through my November 2004 archives today and came across some photos from my first portrait session with model Zoe Taylor. I’ve photographed Zoe many times over the years, but the photographs from this first session remain some of my favorites.

I met with Clara and Steve yesterday outside the Apple Store in Old Town Pasadena. We walked through some lesser known local back alleys, took a few photos, and got to know each other a little bit better. I tried quite a few new things to make up for the fact that Clara and Steve were holding to their tradition of not kissing during the engagement session. Even though that was something I’m not really used to in my engagement sessions, I feel I was able to capture the spirit of the love they have for each other. I’m really looking forward to photographing their wedding in a few weeks!

Christy and Michael were married at the Portofino Hotel & Yacht Club in Redondo Beach, California last Saturday. Their reception was located in the Ocean Room which had a nice view of the harbor. Christy and Michael opted for an intimate affair with only 25 close friends and family members in attendance. They did have a few more surprise guests however in the form of a few seals lounging on a nearby pier as they decided to pipe up from time to time. Here are a few of my favorite images from their day.
