As a photographer serving the Arcadia, California area, history is important to me. Arcadia's first recognized settler was Hugo Reid who was deeded the land by the Spanish government; to my knowledge there is no photograph of Reid, but then again there weren't many photographers in Arcadia at the time. In 1875, Elias J. "Lucky" Baldwin purchased the land of Arcadia with its beautiful foothill landscape, lush greenery, and oak trees--a photographer's dream. Since then, Arcadia has grown into a city in which Lucky would hardly recognize. As a wedding photographer serving the area and providing a wide range of portrait photography services, I'm sure glad Lucky came around. As a photographer, an excellent location for portrait photography and wedding photography is found at the Los Angeles Arboretum located near the Santa Anita race track in Arcadia.
