Product Photographer

I'm happy to provide my clients with promotional, advertising, and catalog product photographs. These photographs will be presented electronically as high resolution JPG or TIF images for print or catalog purposes or low resolution JPG images for use on the Internet or in Web-based online catalogs. I know that an important part of creating a product photograph involves conveying the subtlety of texture in materials while maintaining color fidelity. In essence, I pay careful attention to the lighting, color management, and the other technical aspects of product photography essential when creating images you'll love.

In many cases my clients are looking for basic product images like those seen in many of my online galleries. These photographs are often arranged on a white background; this simple background ensures that the photographs can be used for a wide range of purposes including print advertising and catalogs. However, for some projects products photographed on a white background won't meet your requirements. You may sometimes require specialized backgrounds or settings, custom sets, additional props, or even product styling. I'd be happy to provide you with a custom quotation if your project requires these special services; I'm also happy to assist you in hiring the appropriate personnel for this kind of product photography session.

Product Photography Pricing

Pricing for product photography is based on the number of hours required to photograph individual items and the final presentation medium and worldwide exposure. In many cases the pricing for our product photography can be estimated by the number of items you wish to have photographed. These preliminary estimates assume that the photographs are to be used for catalog purposes and will be photographed using a single background setting or color. These estimates also assume that the collection and return of the items will be your responsibility.

All photographs will be color corrected; however, retouching for images is not included in my basic estimates. Retouching estimates are gladly provided on a per project basis and are billed at my standard hourly rate for computer manipulation. Please note that there are some products that may require extra time to photograph. For example, any product with a highly reflective surface, like jewelry, or any clear product like glassware, requires special lighting techniques and will take more time to photograph than is generally indicated in these estimates.

Final photographs will be provided electronically as JPEG files at 72dpi (for Internet use) or print ready at 300dpi (or higher) in JPG, TIF, or PSD formats. If desired, I can also provide online or CD/DVD-based galleries of your images allowing for convenient peer review.
