I'm a local photographer serving Burbank. Besides being a photographer, I'm also an amateur historian. Did you know that the land occupied by the city of Burbank was once part of Rancho San Rafael and Rancho La Providencia? Dr. David Burbank (not a photographer) purchased portions of both ranchos in 1867. Later the Providencia Land, Water and Development Company purchased the area now known as Burbank for $250,000 and laid out a business district.
