Andy Baker was an Adult Leader for the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) for Troop 826 in Manama, Bahrain. And Andy’s no stranger to the BSA! He was elected to the Order of the Arrow in 1986 and was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout in 1988. In order to achieve Eagle Scout (also known as Eagle), Scouts must to earn at least 21 merit badges. Once a Scout meets the stringent and lengthy criteria, he is presented with both a medal and a badge. The BSA presents the Order of the Arrow (OA) only those Scouts and Scouters who best exemplify the Scout Oath and Law in their daily lives and who are elected by their peers. Andy received his election to OA for maintaining camping traditions and spirit, promoting camping, developing leaders, and for providing service. Inducted members are known as "Arrowmen" or "Brothers." After serving as an Adult Leader for Troop 826, he has moved on and now serves as a volunteer for Troop 886 based in The Woodlands, Texas. His son, David Baker, is now finishing the last requirement needed for advancement to Eagle Scout.
