Whenever I bride has invested in a long wedding veil, then I will typically hope for strong gusts of wind on occasion to blow it for me naturally. However that really happens at weddings and so I'm often forced to use other means to get the veil up and moving as was the case for this Ambassador Mansions & Gardens bridal portrait session. In fact, my second photographer is hiding behind the bush on the left after having thrown the veil into the air in such a way as to make it look like it occur naturally. There's actually a certain technique that we employ in order to make the veil blowing look as natural as is possible in situations like these. Call me cynical, but I can pick out most wedding photographs where the bride's veil was thrown in the air just because of the way it is positioned. That's not to say that I don't have several veil photographs of my own that don't look perfectly natural, however we always do our best to create the most natural looking photographs possible in situations like these.
