Adjacent to the American Jewish University is Camp Alonim, a sprawling compound of buildings where generations of campers have spent their summers. This couple came up with a clever idea of renting the whole camp and then housing all of their wedding guests — or at least those who wanted to spend the night there. I thought it was a great idea because it allowed everyone to get together with minimum expense and somewhat forced everyone to interact over an extended long weekend as part of their Jewish wedding celebration. In this photograph, wedding guests spontaneously created an archway of arms that were intended to offer a path for the bride and groom to enter the reception hall. And then this'll man steps forward to the delight of the bride as she ducked under the arms of friends and family. Moving from under the chuppah and into the reception was a beautiful experience and crazy fun to photograph. Camp Alonim (American Jewish University) is located in Brandeis, California.
