For this wedding in Camarillo, the McCormick Home Ranch was a perfect setting. You can think of it like a combination of rural farm meets personal wedding venue. The McCormick Home Ranch is a working avocado farm, but the family has dedicated several areas of the property to host weddings and other events several times a year. This photograph of the ringbearer walking down the aisle provides a brief glimpse into this venue as well as the paved area where most wedding ceremonies take place. I really love how the late afternoon light is speaking to the trees as a little boy in his blue coat and khaki pants probably walks down the aisle. I typically enjoy photographing processional's using a wide angle lens so as to capture the expressions of guests as they look on at the ceremony participants. What I also think is nice about this photograph is that no one is holding up their iPhone to take photographs. It's one of my pet peeves when I see dozens of guests with their cameras and iPhones taking photographs during the processional and recessional instead of paying close attention to the individuals who were walking down the aisle. I've lost count of the number of photographs where I see someone looking down at their camera or phone instead of watching the bride make her way down the aisle with her father or both of her parents. If you're getting married in the near future, perhaps you might consider and unplugged wedding where the guests are asked to put away their phones and cameras during the ceremony so that they can better enjoy the experience of being there for your wedding.McCormick Home Ranch is located in Camarillo, California.
