Glendale has always offered a rich mixture of cultures and settings for photojournalists, portrait photographers, and wedding photographers. As an event photographer based near downtown Los Angeles and Pasadena, Glendale is just a hop, skip, and a jump away. Some of the more popular event and wedding reception venues in the area include Vertigo Event Venue, Royal Palace Banquet Hall, Dream Palace Banquet Hall, L.A. Banquets (Brandview Ballroom, Galleria Ballroom & Glenoaks Ballroom), Metropol Banquet, MGM Banquet Hall, Palladio Banquet Hall, Renaissance Banquet, Impressions Banquet Hall, Ani Banquet Hall, Hilton Los Angeles North/Glendale, and Brand Park.
In recent research to learn more about the cities that surround me, I was interested to find that the city of Glendale, like many other cities, began as part of the Rancho San Rafael. In 1884, the residents of the central area of this once grand ranch (not photographers) met and selected the name of Glendale for their community. As a photographer, I can only wish I was there to photograph this important point in history.
