Here you'll find details about recommended indoor locations for portrait photography.
An indoor portrait session is typically selected when you prefer studio lighting, you need photography of your head and shoulders area (or perhaps from your head to your mid-thigh). These indoor portraits are captured on a solid color background of your choice.
Clients typically choose my home studio as their preferred product photography location. My studio is a clean and organized 500-square-foot, climate-controlled space that's connected to my craftsman bungalow in Pasadena.
I can provide abundant natural lighting or studio lighting based on your photography requirements. My home studio is an excellent space perfectly suited for individual portraits or headshots. Most of the studio portraits on my website were created in my home studio. With this location, you'll also have your choice of background.
Your On-site Location
For head-and-shoulder corporate headshots on a solid background, I typically work at your location (on-site) for your convenience and to assist in employee productivity.
When I'm creating on-site portraits, I'll ideally need an open space that measures at least 8 feet wide by 10 feet deep—although more space is always preferred. Typical locations include break rooms, an exceptionally large office, a hallway that opens into a larger room, a conference room with the table removed or pushed to one side, or the office lobby. With this location, you'll also have your choice of background.
For on-site portrait photography with studio lighting, an additional setup fee of $200 is required. This setup fee is waived for projects involving more than 20 subjects. A travel fee of $100 per hour may also apply for on-site portrait photography more than 10 miles from my home studio in Pasadena.
If you require a professional studio, some of my favorite locations in Los Angeles include FD Studios, Nobo, Smashbox Studios, Studio 1342, Siren Studios, Avenue Six Studios, 5th and Sunset LA, and Aesthesia Studios. Amenities (and prices) for these studios vary greatly so your budget and sensibilities may influence which studio you'd like to use for your project. With this location, you'll also have your choice of background. You'll be responsible for booking and making all of the facilities arrangements.
