This October wedding at Huron Substation in Los Angeles was a natural setting for this photograph of the bride and groom holding carved pumpkins. My second photographer actually suggested this photograph since she had been photographing the pumpkins as part of her typical décor and detail work. And of course she was right on with her suggestion (as usual). The orange of the pumpkins really stands out and since this is a unique decorative element, at least for the Los Angeles weddings I've photographed, it really stands out when my photography is compared against my wedding photographer contemporaries. The only thing that could have made this better is if the pumpkins were carved hollow and if I could have placed a flash inside each one. Maybe I'll try that kind of image next year. In fact, writing the description for this photo has really got me thinking about a pretty awesome idea for one of my next conceptual engagement session albums.
