Houston Product Photographer

I am a professional photographer in Houston who specializes in commercial product photography. I’m your best choice when you need an item photographed on any background, especially white.

An essential part of creating a successful photograph of your product involves capturing the details in the actual image, conveying subtleties and textures in product materials, and maintaining color fidelity.

The experience necessary to deliver on those simple requirements is hard-won, but I’m a product photographer with the experience and photographic know-how needed for your commercial product photography project.

Important Facts

My product photography pricing is reasonable, affordable, and won’t break the bank. Check out my product photography portfolio for photographic examples that establish why I’m an excellent choice for Houstonians.

Attention to Detail

I pay close attention to details in lighting, color management, and other technical considerations to provide superior product photography for my clients.

Many of my projects involve photographing objects on black or white backgrounds. However, some projects are more complex and require specialized backgrounds, custom sets, props, or product styling.

Ecommerce Expert

I have specific expertise photographing your products for online ecommerce retailers like Amazon.com. My product photography has appeared on the most prominent retail websites in the world—and I’d like to help your products get there, too.

I follow all Amazon guidelines for product photography, so you don’t have to worry about having your images rejected. Since their guidelines are industry standard, you’re also good to go for WooCommerce, your Shopify site, or even eBay.

For larger projects requiring styling, I’m happy to work with you or stylists you recommend or assume the entire burden and provide you with a turnkey solution.

How It Works

You’ll bring your products to my studio unless they’re too large, too heavy, or you have too many items to transport. In those situations, I’ll come to your location for the photography. An additional on-site lighting fee applies when photographing products on-site.

Rob is a true artist with attention to detail. I reached out to him last minute and he more than delivered. Clean process, product photography done with photos delivered day of for editing. — Daniel Basaldua

Whenever possible, I prefer photographing products in my studio. In my studio, I have greater environmental control and special photography tools for in-the-moment needs I may not have for an on-location session.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

These frequently asked questions cover some of the basics of my work as a product photographer. If you don’t see the answer to your burning question here, please contact me today, and I’ll get right back to you.

Everything. Not really.

For a complete list of everything included in a product photography session, please see my product photography pricing page for an itemized deliverables list.

As a product photographer, I no longer photograph jewelry or projects where you need hundreds of SKUs photographed. I also don’t offer ghost mannequin photography.

Otherwise, I’ll photograph anything you bring to my studio.

I’m sorry, but I don’t offer discounts.

Most of my product photography is done at my studio or at your location. I sometimes do some work at home, but I try to limit my product photography work to the studio or on-site locations.

I love product photography featuring your items worn by or used by professional or amateur models. Naturally, working with professional models is easier than working with regular folks, but I’m happy to work with either based on your project goals and budget.

Amazon’s requirements for product photography are straightforward and only vary slightly by category. Images are usually on a white background, photographed in a straightforward manner, are properly exposed, and are of a high enough resolution that viewers can zoom in to see your product’s details.

Product dimensions on this platform have a minimum resolution of 1000 x 1000 pixels, but they recommend 2000 x 2000 pixels as a good starting point.

Shopify’s requirements are similar, with 800 x 800 pixels being the minimum, and 2048 x 2048 being the recommended size. Like Amazon, they don’t have a maximum dimensional size requirement.

Most of my white-background product photography will be delivered with a minimum resolution of 4000 pixels on the shortest side.

I can absolutely meet your 360 product photography requests. I have the turntable equipment and experience necessary to create this work for most objects when you want your customers to rotate your product on-demand, or you think you need your product visualized from dozens of angles.

If you have a tabletop-sized product that weighs less than 10 pounds, we can make your project happen right away. If you have a larger product that needs some 360 photos, please contact me right now and we’ll determine if I have a solution that meets your unique needs.

Absolutely. I want you there. If I were less flexible, I’d require you to be present. Most clients attend their entire product photography session and offer real-time feedback.

Product photography stylists are professionals who arrange products and props and who are focused on improving a product’s appeal.

If your product requires styling, I recommend that you do that styling work yourself or hire a professional stylist who can attend your session.

Although I have knowledge and a great understanding of product marketing, I’m not a professional stylist. However, I will offer advice as to what might look good within the framework of your project.

Very few products I photograph require styling, but if you bring me a project where styling is needed, I’ll refer you to professional stylists.

My product photography fees are hourly, so complex projects may take longer than simple ones and thus require a larger budget.

For projects < $1000, I usually don’t require a signed agreement. However, my product photography terms & conditions still apply.

One of the easiest ways to reduce your product photography budget is to prepare your products before you arrive at my studio.

Don’t miss my product photography getting ready information before we begin your project.

Would you like me to give future clients your phone number? I think your answer is probably no, so I’m going to respect the privacy of my past clients and instead direct you to hundreds of reviews that establish my expertise, credibility, and work ethic.

This issue occurs relatively frequently, so if it does, we’ll reschedule your session at no charge if you provide enough notice per my product photography terms and conditions.
