In June of 2007 I received an e-mail from Nikon asking if I would sell the rights to one of my Yosemite photographs (single use). The image in question was titled “Spring Flood” was a photograph that I had recently entered in the Nikon Photo Contest International. Naturally I was pretty stoked about this news. That being said, it’s been really hard to keep quiet about this news for all of these many months.
When I finally received the calendar and read the back cover, I was pretty amazed at Nikon’s description:
All the photographs in this calendar are outstanding entries from the Nikon Photo Contest International 2006-2007 and were selected especially for the calendar.
Since 1969, the Nikon Photo Contest International has been held by Nikon Corporation to provide an opportunity for photographers around the world to communicate and to enrich photographic culture for professionals and amateurs alike.
