These "groucho glasses" were selected as a prop for the couple's engagement session because the location was a large property.

I prefer that clients don't carry bags as we move from place to place. And since I typically like to walk quite a bit during these kinds of portrait sessions, I tried to guide the couple to select props that were easy to carry. In fact, these props were carried in my back pocket until they were needed.

I was fortunate that Kirstin had purchased these glasses featuring a fake nose with bushy eyebrows and moustache since they fit perfectly with the playful theme that was starting to naturally emerge. This particular pose is actually "part two" of a sequence of simple poses that I use with most of my clients.

This one is slightly unusual since the couple is looking past me when I instead typically ask my subjects to look directly into the camera when I'm taking this kind of photograph.

As you'll see from the subsequent photographs, these images are meant to be complementary. As you can see here, this image from the sequence can stand alone as a simple portrait. However, as you'll see from the following album pages, this photograph can also be used as part of a diptych or triptych.
