Francisco Owens, Stormtrooper

Francisco Owens, Stormtrooper

Here Francisco Owens is seen in his custom Stormtrooper armor. This particular armor is unique because it was cast from actual on-screen Stunt armor that appeared in Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. The pieces from the casting were hand assembled by Francisco and trimmed to fit his body. As an interesting aside, did you know that the original stormtroopers were actors who measured 5’11" and weighed approximately 170 pounds? When Francisco is not sporting fancy armor, he’s an architect who likes to tinker with things. In fact, he enjoys making all manner of intricate objects including art, sculpture, costumes, furniture, and even scale models. Some of Francisco’s favorite films and television shows include The Walking Dead, Six Feet Under, Star Wars, and all Stanley Kubrick films. He also has some pretty interesting musical tastes; they include genres like post-punk, industrial, and alternative music like Joy Division, Cold Cave, and Skinny Puppy. He grew up in Cleveland, Ohio but now resides in Silverlake, an up-and-coming neighborhood east of downtown Los Angeles. He and his wife Camille have two children—a boy named Echo and a girl named Apple. Franciso (TK-19191) is a member of the 501st Legion—an organization of Star Wars costume enthusiasts who contribute to local communities through charity and volunteer work.
