Bride's Parents Reception Hora

Jewish wedding celebrations often include a hora dance during the reception.

This dance is usually performed to Israeli folk songs and sometimes Jewish songs. The dance begins when everyone forms a circle, interlocks hands or arms, and circles together to the left. In most cases, the bride and groom are at the center. Later in the dance, parents usually join them there.

After the couple is lifted on chairs, the couple's parents are often lifted as well. This photograph shows the bride's parents lifted in the air during an outdoor reception.
