It was such a fabulous experience to photograph this multi-day Indian wedding at Bighorn Country Club in Palm Desert, California.
When I was making this photograph, I only had a few moments with the bride before she was whisked off before the baraat. The baraat is a groom's wedding procession where he travels to the wedding venue and is accompanied by his family members. It's typically a large procession of friends and family members and includes celebration an singing. In Southern California, the music is typically provided by a mobile DJ. Both men and women participate in the procession. This was the first Indian wedding at Bighorn Country Club featuring an elephant and it made quite a stir with all of the nearby residents who lined the streets to watch the procession.
