I'm not sure how many different ways I can say it, but I absolutely adore photographing weddings at the Trinity Church of Santa Monica.
As a Los Angeles wedding photographer, I'm often faced with difficult lighting conditions or venues that offer visual challenges in terms of creating beautiful images, but that's not the case at the Trinity Church. Both the interior and the exterior are perfectly suited to photography — especially since everything is painted white. From a technical perspective, white is an excellent color since it serves to reflect light everywhere and it does so in such a way that the light is soft and enveloping.
This photograph features a bride and groom exiting the church while their guests blow bubbles and celebrate their wedding. Many photographers struggle with photographing people of color, although I'm not sure why that is the case. As a very technical photographer myself, skin tones make no difference in how I photograph a wedding, and as you see here, every individual in the photograph is well-handled — regardless of how light or dark their skintone.
