Looking through the huge glass doors at the Villa Del Leon in Pacific Palisades out at the bride and groom standing on the patio overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
From an artistic perspective I particularly enjoy the framing of the couple in the middle the doorway and the nude statue that stands on its pillar centered between the two of them. Even though photographing a couple in full sunlight can be difficult, I was fortunate in having all things align perfectly to create the silhouette foreground and the ideally exposed background. The thing that makes this photograph appear candid that the couple appears to be in conversation which emphasizes the natural photography that I try to achieve at every wedding. For this bride, who is wearing a black wedding dress, it was particularly important that we create images that highlight the venue, Villa Del Leon — a highly exclusive location that is unavailable to the general public.
