Storytelling albums are handmade hardcover books featuring photographic prints mounted to rigid pages.
After your event you'll get to choose your favorite photographs along with the album cover materials. Cover options encompass a wide range of materials including leather, silk brocade, and vegan-friendly man-made leather.
Every album opens flat, presenting optimum viewing angles and features a shallow, nearly imperceptible seam between facing pages. Every finished album is presented in beautiful, eco-friendly packaging and is tastefully imprinted with my studio logo on the rear pastedown.
Every photo in every album professionally retouched to bring out the very best in every image. The importance of this treatment cannot be overstated.
After spending years researching manufacturers and working with artisans from around the world, I eventually selected an extremely gifted group of craftsmen as my album makers. I made this choice based on my belief that albums should be hand-crafted heirlooms of unrivaled style and workmanship.
My album maker is a green company that offers fabric, leather, and PVC-free man-made leathers; hand-made recycled pineapple leaf paper wrappers; hand-made recycled Mulberry leaf ribbons; corn starch packing materials; and completely recyclable cardboard and paper tape shipping materials. All albums are made in the USA.
Less Is More
My design principles are deceptively simple. “Less is More" and “Bigger is Better"—those are my bywords. In other words, I believe that telling a story with a single photograph is better than telling the same story using two photographs.
Likewise, using two photographs is preferable to using three. And using three photos is almost always preferable to four. In other words, I believe that including superfluous photos in album designs dilutes the impact of other photos and confuses storytelling.
We'll work together to identify the most important moments from your event and then collaboratively incorporate those photographs into your album. As such, your storybook wedding album will serve as an impressive visual and tactile reminder designed to forever bear witness to your most important memories.
At both the 2012 and 2014 Wedding and Portrait Photographers International (WPPI) convention in Las Vegas, I was awarded First Place in the prestigious WPPI Awards of Excellence Album Competition.
This recognition indicated that my entry showed a near-perfect combination of creativity, impact, storytelling, technical excellence, lighting, posing, expression, and composition.
But these weren't my first award-winning albums. In 2010, one of my fine art albums was awarded Second Place while yet another received an Accolade of Excellence and in 2013 one of my wedding albums also received an Accolade of Excellence.
That's five entries and five wins! Why does this matter? It matters because when you select me as your photographer you can rest assured that you'll be working with an award-winning artist with proven expertise in album design. Please feel free to check out more current information about my awards.
For my wedding books, I offer a 12" x 12" album that, when opened, presents your most important photographs across a luxurious 12" x 24" spread. When discussing albums, I'll use the word "spread" to describe two facing pages.
For example, in my wedding albums, a vertical crease splits the middle of a spread. Information to the left of the vertical crease represents one page and information to the right of the seam represents a second page—just like left and right pages found in a library book. Album pages are therefore purchased in pairs.
Smaller sizes and duplicate albums are also available on request. And with over 150 different leather, silk brocade, and vegan-friendly faux leather materials, available, you can customize your album, making it a perfect fit for your personalities.
In terms of the album design, I've spent over 20 years working as a graphic designer and during the last ten years I've spent countless hours studying and perfecting the craft of wedding album design.
In recent years, I've also received four prestigious international album design awards. I'll use those decades of experience and all of my practiced storytelling techniques to design an incredible award-worthy wedding album for you and your fiancé.
After your event, you'll be encouraged to choose your favorite wedding photographs for the album. The album is all about presenting your favorite parts of your wedding story and your choices are important to me. You can alternatively save yourself time and ask me to select the best photos for you—independent of your input. You have the choice so simply choose whichever option works best for you.
Once your design is finalized, all of your wedding album photographs are carefully retouched and that process elevates the quality of your photographs to a whole new level. If you'd like to learn more, please check out my album retouching information.
You can choose from over 150 different types of leather, fabric, and man-made materials for your storybook album cover. Swatch colors may vary on different display devices. Thus, it's sometimes difficult to grasp the actual depth of color and character of these cover materials.
These digital swatches are approximations and are used to generally illustrate album cover materials. At my studio I can show you actual physical swatches and albums covered with of these materials. Whenever possible, viewing swatches in person is always recommended when making your final cover material selections. Many of those swatch options are shown below:
The Accents collection boasts leather swatches featuring incredible textures and colors.
The Addiction collection is a solid fabric cover material set offered in both bold and subdued colors. You can't live without them.
All That Jazz Collection
The All That Jazz collection features popular artisan leathers. Please note that because of the nature of these genuine leathers, you can expect variations from the swatches to the album.
The Basics collection is one of the most popular lines of leather cover materials that I offer. The leathers seen here are very consistent with what actually appears on albums. My personal favorite and most selected album cover material is Miami Ink.
The Fragments collection is one of my favorite cover material lines—especially when you are interested in patterned textures on leather. My personal favorite in this collection is Secret Garden matched with Krumble on the album spine. That being said, Ludicrous looks fabulous by itself as an album covering.

Happy Cow Collection
The Happy Cow collection features a man-made leather substitute. It's very difficult to tell that this material is not actual leather.

Haute Colour Collection
The Haute Colour collection features fabric cover materials with a zig-zag or subtle stripe pattern.
The Midtown collection offers various silks and linens in solid, consistent fabric materials.
The Nines collection represents some of the finest textured leather cover materials available. Please note that if you select a material from this collection, an additional $150 charge will apply.

Tricycle Alley Collection
The Tricycle Alley collection offers bold, consistent colors in leather. Although color-matching to your wedding may not be possible, the shades represented here are quite common and may serve to match your preferred event colors.
Urban Legends Collection
The Urban Legends collection presents suede and patent leathers. Before you select a suede however, please consider that soft leather materials like these can be difficult to clean and tend to pick up oils and dirt easily.
